Kuwait backs UAE measures to safeguard security following Iranian strikes

Kuwait’s Cabinet reaffirmed full support and solidarity with the UAE following recent Iranian attacks targeting civilian sites. This came during the cabinet’s meeting, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, reviewing regional developments, diplomatic efforts, and several legislative and service-related matters.
Following the meeting, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shereeda Abdullah Al-Maousherji said the Cabinet was briefed on the letter sent by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The letter was delivered by Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah during his official visit to Ankara. The Cabinet also reviewed the outcomes of the foreign minister’s talks with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan.
On regional developments, the Cabinet strongly condemned recent Iranian attacks targeting civilian sites in the UAE, reaffirming Kuwait’s full solidarity with the UAE and support for measures to safeguard its security, stability, and sovereignty.
The Cabinet was also updated on the Foreign Ministry diplomatic efforts, including recent communications with counterparts in friendly and sisterly countries, as well as a letter received from South Korean Foreign Minister Jo Hyun on regional developments and efforts to boost stability.
It further reviewed the latest regional military developments, particularly in light of recent attacks affecting Kuwait and Gulf countries. On the legislative front, the Cabinet approved a draft decree-law on maritime facilities and floating units, aimed at modernizing Kuwait’s maritime legislation, and referred it to His Highness the Amir for final approval.
The Cabinet also endorsed several draft decrees and memoranda of understanding with various countries to strengthen Kuwait’s international relations across multiple sectors.
In addition, it approved initiatives under the Green Urban Development program, including beautification and greening projects supported by private sector contributions, aimed at enhancing public spaces and promoting sustainable urban development.
The Cabinet reviewed reports from government agencies on measures taken to raise preparedness levels to ensure the safety of citizens and residents and secure essential supplies amid ongoing regional developments.
