Kuwait approves nine new U.S. university programs for students

The decision by Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, adds five bachelor's degree programs, two doctoral programs, and two master's programs.

The newly added bachelors programs are Landscape Architecture at the University of Delaware; Public Relations at the University of Miami; and Agriculture, Human Resources, and Technology and Operations Management at California State Polytechnic University.

Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has approved the addition of specific academic programs and scientific journals to the list of U.S. institutions approved for Kuwaiti students, based on recommendations from the National Bureau for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education, reported Arabic daily Al Qabas.

The decision includes the addition of five bachelor’s degree programs, two doctoral programs, and two master’s programs.

The newly added bachelor’s programs are Landscape Architecture at the University of Delaware; Public Relations at the University of Miami; and Agriculture, Human Resources, and Technology and Operations Management at California State Polytechnic University.

The decision also includes the addition of a master’s program in Urban Design and a Performance Design and Technology program at the University of Southern California, as well as a doctoral program in Journalism and a Media and Studio Arts program at Ohio University.

Article 2 of the resolution states that study must be conducted on a full-time, regular attendance basis for the entire duration, and that the program students enroll in must follow a traditional education system.

Article 3 specifies that the academic program students enroll in must have completed the full study period required to grant the academic degree, with at least one graduating class from the offering college. It is also necessary to adhere to the regulations governing enrollment and study systems at higher education institutions outside Kuwait and to ensure that academic degrees meet the requirements set by the Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait.
