Kuwait Ambassador presents credentials to Japan’s Foreign Ministry

Kuwait’s Ambassador to Japan, H.E. Dr. Mohammad Al-Hajri, presented a copy of his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary during a meeting Wednesday with Ambassador H.E. Keiichi Hara, Chief of Protocol at Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the ministry’s headquarters in Tokyo.
According to a statement from the Kuwaiti Embassy in Japan received by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Thursday, Al-Hajri emphasized the depth of Kuwaiti-Japanese relations, noting that 2026 marks the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
He said bilateral relations have witnessed a qualitative development, rising to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership following the historic visit of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to Japan in May 2015.
Al-Hajri also highlighted the recent visit of Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to Japan in August and the clear objectives agreed during the visit to strengthen bilateral cooperation. He stressed his commitment to working with the Japanese side to translate those objectives into practical steps across various fields.
For his part, Ambassador Hara welcomed Al-Hajri and praised his diplomatic experience, stressing that Japan views Kuwait as a reliable partner and friend, rather than solely as a major energy supplier. Hara expressed hope for further strengthening bilateral relations and increasing the frequency of high-level visits and communications between Kuwait and Japan.
