KNG shot down 62 drones, 7 UAVs since start of Iranian aggression

The Kuwait National Guard (KNG) announced on Monday that it has intercepted and shot down 62 drones and seven hostile unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) since the start of the Iranian aggression.

KNG spokesperson Brigadier General Dr. Jadaan Fadhel said during a media briefing on the latest field developments that the Engineering Battalion, through its explosive ordnance disposal unit had handled 51 reports involving missile debris, shrapnel, and drones in various areas.

He added that specialized teams have been operating around the clock, successfully neutralizing threats and securing affected sites with high efficiency while ensuring public safety and protecting lives and property.

Fadhel noted that the KNG continues to carry out its duties with high readiness, securing 82 vital sites as part of an integrated security system to protect key facilities in Kuwait, while providing support to state institutions when required.

He reassured citizens and residents that readings in Kuwait’s airspace and territorial waters remain normal, adding that the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Center for Chemical Defense and Radiological Monitoring is fully operational around the clock, monitoring any potential risks and issuing early warnings to relevant authorities.

The National Guard has also supported the Ministry of Public Works in draining rainwater in several areas, as well as assisting the Kuwait Fire Force in firefighting efforts, underscoring its strategic role in supporting state agencies and safeguarding public safety.

The statement affirmed that National Guard personnel will continue to carry out their duties in coordination with relevant authorities to maintain the country’s security and stability.
