Is’ra and Mi’raj holiday shifted to Thursday Jan 30

The Civil Service Bureau will submit a letter to the Civil Service Council and the Council of Ministers stating that Thursday, the 30th of this month, will be an official holiday for all public agencies, bodies and institutions on the occasion of the Isra and Mi’raj anniversary, Arabic daily al anba reported

The sources explained that the postponement of the holiday date to Thursday instead of Monday, the 27th of this month, which coincides with the Isra and Mi’raj anniversary, came based on the decision of the Council of Ministers regarding the postponement of the Prophet’s birthday holiday and the Isra and Mi’raj holiday every year if they fall between two working days to the following Thursday.

Thus, the holiday will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday, corresponding to January 30 and 31 and February 1, respectively, and official work will resume on Sunday, February 2, noting that the holidays of the agencies, bodies and entities with a special nature of work are determined by the competent authorities in their affairs, taking into account the public interest
