At least 1,332 people have been reported killed in Iran since the United States and Israel launched their military campaign on February 28

The war between the United States, Israel and Iran has now entered its eighth day, with fighting expanding across multiple fronts in the Middle East and continuing missile and drone exchanges across the region. Fresh air strikes hit Iran overnight, while Iran and allied groups launched new attacks across Israel and Gulf countries.

In Iran

Intensifying air campaign

The US and Israeli militaries say they have struck more than 3,000–3,400 targets across Iran since the war began.

Around 7,500 munitions have been dropped, targeting missile launch sites, command centres, and infrastructure linked to Iran’s military and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Overnight, more than 80 Israeli fighter jets carried out a new wave of strikes on Tehran and central Iran.

Tehran and key facilities hit

Explosions were reported across multiple neighbourhoods of Tehran, including near military installations.

Mehrabad Airport, one of Tehran’s main airports, was reportedly targeted, with fires seen near parts of the facility.

Iranian officials say residential areas, hospitals and schools have also been damaged in the bombing.

Iran’s interim leadership rejected the demand, saying the country “will never surrender.”

Iranian response and strategy

Iran continues to launch ballistic missiles, drones, and possibly cluster-type munitions at Israel and US-allied targets.

Analysts say the strategy appears aimed at:

overwhelming air defences, stretching interceptor supplies, expanding the conflict regionally.

Russia’s involvement

Russia’s president spoke with Iran’s leadership, offering condolences for the casualties and discussing developments.

US officials say Russia may be sharing intelligence about US military positions with Iran.

Iran apologises to neighbours

Iran’s president Masoud Pezeshkian apologised to neighbouring countries for missile attacks across the region, saying Iran would avoid striking neighbours unless attacks originate from their territory.

In Gulf nations

Missiles and drones across the region

In Israel: Continued Iranian strikes.  Iran is still launching missiles and drones toward Israeli cities, triggering air-raid sirens across: Tel Aviv, northern Israel,  areas near Beersheba in the Negev desert.

Air defence pressure

Military analysts say Iran is attempting to: exhaust Israel’s interceptor missiles, overwhelm systems such as Iron Dome and Arrow through repeated waves of attacks.

Hezbollah joins fighting

Hezbollah fighters have fired rockets toward northern Israel. Clashes were reported between Hezbollah and Israeli forces in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon.

Accusations at the UN

Military deployments expanding

The United States is reinforcing forces across the region. A B-1 strategic bomber has arrived at a US-allied airbase in the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom has pledged fighter jets, helicopters and a destroyer to help defend Saudi Arabia if needed. Additional Typhoon jets are being deployed to Qatar for air patrols.
