Iran has announced the resumption of exploratory drilling in the Caspian Sea, following a directive from Oil Minister Javad Owji, according to a report by the Oil Ministry’s Shana news agency on Friday.
The move comes as part of Iran’s efforts to tap into the energy potential of the Caspian Basin — a region believed to hold significant reserves of oil and gas, according to Al-Rai daily.
Drilling activities in the area had been suspended for years due to technical and geopolitical challenges.
