Dr Al-Huwailah praises Gulf Red Crescent Societies as exemplary humanitarian model

Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, affirmed on Thursday that the Red Crescent societies and organizations across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries serve as a pioneering model in humanitarian and relief work. She noted that their efforts reflect the noble Gulf values of solidarity and generosity toward those in need.
Her remarks came in a statement issued by the Ministry of Social Affairs following her meeting with a visiting delegation representing Gulf Red Crescent societies and organizations. The meeting was also attended by the Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs at the GCC General Secretariat, Khaled Al-Sunaidi, and the Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Ambassador Khaled Al-Mughamis, reports Al-Rai Arabic daily.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Huwailah commended the significant humanitarian contributions made by the Gulf Red Crescent organizations both regionally and globally. She expressed deep appreciation for their continued support to communities affected by disasters and crises.
She emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination and collaboration among the Gulf Red Crescent societies, describing such meetings as vital platforms for sharing expertise and aligning efforts to address growing humanitarian challenges. She also stressed the need for collective preparedness to ensure rapid and effective emergency response.
The visiting delegation included Ahmed Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent; Mubarak Al Hadi, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society; Dr. Jalal Al Owaisi, President of the Saudi Red Crescent; Badr Al Zaabi, Acting CEO of the Oman Charitable Organization; and Yousef Al Khater, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Red Crescent.
