Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported that the suspension of domestic and international flights in the northern, southern, and western regions of the country has been extended until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, without providing an official explanation for the extension.
The announcement comes after Iranian authorities had initially planned to partially reopen airspace to both domestic and international air traffic, following a temporary nationwide suspension of flights.
The original flight halt was imposed amid heightened security concerns during the recent 12-day conflict with Israel, which concluded with a ceasefire earlier this week. The suspension affected operations at all airports across the country as a precautionary measure.
The latest extension has raised further speculation about the security situation in the affected regions, though no official statement has been issued regarding the reason for the continued closure.
