Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi said his country and the United States have agreed on Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding to end the ongoing conflict and lift the naval blockade on Iran.
The framework deal stipulates that hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, and the US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will end as from Monday early morning.
Other obligations will enter into force on Friday after the formal signing of the deal in Switzerland, Gharibabadi told the Iranian state TV.
The Iranian official made the comments a few hours after US President Donald J. Trump announced a Pakistan-mediated deal has been reached to end the conflict and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
“This Great deal will bring Peace and Security to the whole Region,” Trump said.
