Invitation to national companies to participate in the Red Palace project

The Kuwait Municipality announced inviting national companies to invest in the Red Palace Village project in Jahra Governorate, which includes the establishment of a park and a heritage market, to encourage tourism and to highlight the cultural, commercial and prominent historical landmarks in the country.

The Director General of Kuwait Municipality, Eng. Saud Al-Dubous stated that the project aims to transform the area surrounding the Red Palace into an integrated tourist destination, including natural parks, green spaces, and a heritage market showcasing traditional handicrafts and popular cuisines, as reported by Al Jarida.

The market will work as a platform to support Kuwaiti craftsmen and contribute to preserving the country’s cultural and art heritage, similar to the previous municipality project in Mubarakiya Market.
Deputy Director General for Projects Sector Affairs, Eng. Maysa Boushehri said that the park will be designed to mimic the natural and historical environment of the Jahra region, providing recreational facilities for visitors, making it a preferred destination for recreation and shopping.

She said that the project reflects Kuwait’s vision towards developing historical areas, preserving cultural heritage, promoting domestic tourism and attracting visitors from within the country, and from overseas. The project is expected to be completed within the next few years, becoming a qualitative addition to the tourism infrastructure in Kuwait.

In the same context, the Kuwait Municipality announced its open invitation to national companies to qualify as investors for the project. She said that national companies wishing to participate must submit their applications to qualify according to the specified terms and standards, in preparation for the investment stages of the project.

She also highlighted the importance of strengthening the partnership between public and private sectors to achieve sustainable development in the country.
