.. . restricts passport, visa services to emergency cases

The Embassy of India in Kuwait has announced that its consular, passport and visa services will continue to be restricted to emergency cases only until Sunday, July 26, 2026, citing administrative reasons.

According to an urgent notice issued by the Embassy, applicants seeking emergency services must submit supporting documents proving the urgent nature of their request. During this period, only essential services will be processed through the Embassy’s Consular Wing.

The emergency services available include the issuance of Tatkal passports, NRI certificates, short-validity passports for applicants whose Civil ID validity is nearing expiry, Emergency Certificates, and e-Visas.

The Embassy clarified that applications for regular passports, visa services and document attestations will not be accepted or processed until normal operations resume.

In addition, all Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) in Kuwait will remain closed for accepting applications until further notice.

Applicants requiring emergency assistance have been advised to visit the Consular Wing of the Embassy between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon only, along with documents supporting the urgency of their application.

The Embassy said further updates on the restoration of normal services will be announced in due course.

It also urged members of the Indian community to rely solely on the Embassy’s official communication channels and social media platforms for authentic information and future announcements.
