IBA’s 10th mega basketball tournament thrills fans

The basketball tournament is being held in memory of the beloved Thomas Chandy Memorial Ever Rolling Interschool Trophy and the Susamma Elanjickal Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy.

The 10th IBA Basketball Tournament 2025, organized under the banner of the Indian Basketball Association, is underway with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit at the indoor court of United International Indian School, running from March 29 to April 11.

The basketball tournament is being held in memory of the beloved Thomas Chandy Memorial Ever Rolling Interschool Trophy and the Susamma Elanjickal Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy. The event is open to all sports enthusiasts and well-wishers.

The school-level tournament was officially inaugurated on Saturday, March 29, by Mr. John Thomas, Purchase Manager of United Indian School.

Matches in the Men’s and Women’s Open Categories were officially chaired by Mr. Vipin Thukattu, Student Recruitment Director at the Canadian College of Kuwait.

Schools competing for the Thomas Chandy Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy include Bhavans, Indian School of Excellence, Indian Community School, DPS, defending champions United Indian School, Don Bosco, and Carmel School. Open Category teams participating include Decibelz, Lob City, Raptors A-Team, and Crusaders, along with Women’s teams Don Bosco, Decibelz, and IASC Rebounders.

The tournament is further enriched by the presence of national and international players, all set to compete in the much-anticipated finals on Friday, April 11.

The closing ceremony will also take place on April 11, graced by our esteemed Mr. Joel Jacob, Executive Administrative Manager of United Group of Schools, who will acknowledge and applaud the winners. The Guest of Honor, the respected Mr. Khaled Al Khalaff, Head Coach of the Kuwait Basketball Team and a distinguished basketball player, will present the awards for the Open Category matches.

The IBA family warmly invites all sports lovers and supporters to attend the closing ceremony, witness the thrilling finals, and be part of an exciting basketball journey.
