Gulf 26 takes shape as committee reviews final preparations
The tournament will be held in Kuwait from December 21 to January 3, featuring teams from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Iraq, Yemen, and the host country, Kuwait.

The Supreme Organizing Committee of the Gulf Cup Arabian Football Championship (Gulf 26), chaired by Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, the Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, reviewed the latest organizational preparations for the tournament, which will take place in Kuwait from December 21 to January 3, according to Q8-Press.
The Public Authority for Sport stated in a press release that this was discussed during a meeting that included a presentation by Zain, the official sponsor of the tournament, on various related topics, primarily the ongoing preparations for the championship draw ceremony scheduled for November 9.
It added that the presentation included a review of proposed designs for Fan Zone areas in three main locations near the tournament’s stadiums: Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, Jaber Al-Mubarak Stadium, and ‘Murooj’ Park. These designs were adopted in preparation for their implementation.
The authority pointed out that minister Al-Mutairiemphasized during the meeting the importance of intensifying the efforts of all relevant authorities in the country to ensure a distinctive organization of this Gulf sports carnival, in line with the high directives of the political leadership. The goal is to present the championship in a manner that reflects the depth of Gulf and Arab relations.
Notably, the tournament will feature the participation of eight teams: Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Iraq, Yemen, and the host country, Kuwait.
