Government agencies fail to submit job requests for registered candidates

The sources urged the creation of sustainable job opportunities and the gradual reduction of unemployment through several measures and strategies.

  • Certain agencies requested excluding specific specialties from the list of candidates awaiting government employment. Sources noted this as a warning sign, urging proactive solutions to prevent saturation in the government sector and rising graduate unemployment.

Several ministries and government agencies have not submitted requests to the Civil Service Commission regarding the job requirements of registered candidates for general employment. Additionally, some agencies requested the exclusion of specific specialties from the list of candidates awaiting government employment, sources told Al-Anbaa newspaper.

The sources believed that the sufficiency of certain ministries is a warning sign, necessitating the search for proactive solutions and alternatives. This is to avoid being surprised by the saturation of the entire government sector, its inability to accommodate new candidates, and the subsequent rise in graduate unemployment.

The sources urged the creation of sustainable job opportunities and the gradual reduction of unemployment through several measures and strategies, with the most critical ones being:

  1. Radically modernize the educational systems to align with labor market requirements, while simultaneously implementing training and rehabilitation programs to improve the skills of current or new employees.
  2. Amending and changing labor market regulations and laws, facilitating workers’ transitions between jobs, and supporting a stable and safe work environment.
  3. Additional factors include supporting entrepreneurship by providing facilities and soft loans for small startup companies and establishing business incubators to support them.
  4. Improving and developing infrastructure, enhancing transportation, communications, and energy as basic pillars of economic growth to facilitate business and attract investments.
  5. Creating a stable economic environment that encourages internal and external investment to support promising sectors such as technology, tourism, and manufacturing industries.
  6. Strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors and creating strategic partnerships to implement large development projects, stimulating the private sector to participate in skills development and employment.
  7. Providing tax incentives for companies employing a large number of graduates and working to reduce taxes on small businesses to stimulate growth.
  8. Providing social safety nets for the most vulnerable groups, creating income support programs, and continuing unemployment insurance support.
