Former Prime Minister HH Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak passes away at 82

His Highness Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah has passed away. The deceased was born in 1942. He held several positions since 1968, including: Supervisor of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Amiri Diwan, then Director of the Department, then Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs

He was then appointed Governor of Hawalli on March 19, 1979, then Governor of Ahmadi before assuming the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor portfolio, then the Ministry of Information portfolio, and then assuming the position of Advisor in the Office of His Highness the Amir of the country.

On February 14, 2001, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and was appointed to the same position in the government formed on July 14, 2003.

On February 9, 2006, he was appointed First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior, and Minister of Defense, and he was reappointed to the same positions in the two government formations held on July 11, 2006 and March 25, 2007.

On October 28, 2007, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak assumed the position of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense following a ministerial reshuffle. He was reappointed to the same position in the successive governments formed in May 2008, January 2009, May 2009, and May 2011 until the government submitted its resignation on November 28, 2011.

In November 2011, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak was appointed Prime Minister and continued in his position until 2019.
