Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio have reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across various fields, in a move aimed at strengthening common interests and supporting the aspirations of both friendly nations.

In a statement issued Wednesday evening, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the talks took place during an official visit by Rubio and his accompanying delegation to the State of Kuwait.

The meeting reviewed the long-standing strategic partnership between Kuwait and the United States, highlighting the significance of this year as a key milestone in the history of bilateral relations, marking the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 35th anniversary of Kuwait’s liberation from the Iraqi invasion.

Both sides underlined their determination to further develop cooperation frameworks and broaden areas of partnership in a manner that reinforces mutual interests and supports continued coordination on regional and international issues.

The discussions also touched on the latest regional developments, with particular focus on diplomatic efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the Middle East following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The meeting comes amid continued high-level engagement between Kuwait and the United States, reflecting both countries’ commitment to maintaining close consultation on key regional challenges and strengthening their strategic alignment.
