Dust storm and heatwave to hit Kuwait Monday

The Meteorological Department has forecast that Kuwait will experience a hot air mass on Monday, resulting in a noticeable rise in temperatures and strong southerly winds that may reduce visibility due to dust, particularly in open areas.

Acting Director Dharar Al-Ali told KUNA that a cold front is expected to move in by Monday afternoon, shifting winds to brisk northwesterlies. Dust will persist, reducing visibility to below 1,000 meters, and could disappear entirely in some regions.

Sea waves may reach heights of up to six feet, with gradual dust settling expected later. Al-Ali noted that weather conditions should begin to improve Tuesday morning, accompanied by a drop in maximum temperatures.

He urged the public to follow updates via the department’s official website, app, and social media channels.
