‘Court of Cassation’ sentences Bedoon to death, for father’s murder and attempting to kill mother

The Court of Cassation sentenced a Bedoon to death on charges of killing his father with a firearm in the Al-Firdaws area and attempting to kill his mother, but was unsuccessful due to a malfunction in the gun, following a quarrel with his mother.
The accused had previously confessed before the court, stating that on the day of the incident, he returned home and was using different types of drugs that a friend had given him.
According to what he learned later, a dispute occurred between him and his mother over breakfast, and he assaulted her, which prompted his father to intervene.
Then the situation escalated into a fistfight, after which he brought a firearm and shot his father in the chest, killing him. He didn’t know what had happened during all of this.
What he is narrating now is what was told to him when he woke up in the detectives’ cell, where they informed him that he had killed his father. He only learned about this on the second day of his detention after waking up from the effects of the drugs he had taken.
