College Dean encourages textbook recycling in new guidelines
Dr. Mubarak Al-Dharwa, the Acting Dean of the College of Basic Education, issued a circular to the heads of the practical departments outlining the curriculum book guidelines.
According to Al Rai newspaper, the circular permits students to reuse books that were previously used by other students.
Al-Dharwa called on the faculty members in the department to adhere to Resolution No. (2023/1432) regarding the controls for supplying and pricing the Arabic textbook from the Authority’s colleges and institutes to the student library.
He stressed the necessity for “the faculty and training members to urge their students to purchase the textbook from the student library, without obligating or questioning the students based on whether or not they have purchased it.”
He added, “It is prohibited to limit the use of books to one time only, and it is also permitted to recirculate used books among students.”
