Beit Al-Qurain Martyrs Museum organizes a flag hoisting event
Today, the Beit Al-Qurain Martyrs Museum hosted a Flag Hoisting ceremony as part of the Kuwait National Museum’s events commemorating the sixty-third National Day and the thirty-third Liberation Day anniversaries.
The event, attended by Dr. Muhammad Al-Jassar, Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters, Musaed Al-Zamil, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arts Sector, and Muhammad bin Reda, Acting Assistant Secretary-General of the Antiquities and Museums Sector, featured the inauguration of the “Between War and Peace” exhibition by artist Fahd Al-Najjar, as well as showcased the artifacts from the “Expo 965” team focusing on heritage, reports Al-Jarida daily.
During the event, artist Fahd Al-Najjar presented some of his works, underscoring the significance of the museum as a historical landmark symbolizing Kuwaiti youth’s resistance against the brutal Iraqi invasion, notably in the battle bearing its name led by 19 Kuwaiti youth from the “Al-Masila Group – Kuwait Power,” which resulted in the sacrifice of 12 martyrs.
Dr. Al-Jassar highlighted the interactive nature of the “Between War and Peace” exhibition, featuring paintings utilizing augmented reality technology to recount the nation’s February 24, 1991 defense against the invasion.
He also commended the “Expo 965” team’s contribution, urging the public to visit the event at the Beit Al-Qurain Martyrs Museum, emphasizing its importance in preserving Kuwait’s history and inspiring future generations.
In his remarks, artist Fahd Al-Najjar expressed his commitment to documenting the invasion’s events through his paintings, utilizing augmented reality to convey scenes and explain historical events, highlighting the significance of technological advancements in exhibitions. The Kuwait National Museum’s activities marking Kuwait’s national holidays will continue at the Al-Qurain House and other museums for a week.
