The Association of Filipino Organizations in Kuwait (ASFOK) successfully conducted a blood donation drive at Al Adan Blood Center on June 13, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Nineteen organizations participated in the event, including invited groups and entities.

The initiative was to support local blood banks and promote communal solidarity among the Filipino expatriate community in Kuwait.

The blood donation drive saw enthusiastic participation from volunteers eager to contribute to a lifesaving cause.

Organized in collaboration with Al Adan Blood Center, the event ensured that all necessary health protocols were followed to guarantee donor safety.

Medical professionals were present throughout the activity to screen participants, oversee the donation process, and provide post-donation care.

Among the distinguished attendees were the Philippines Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Jose Cabrera III, Consul Alex Villaspin, Labor Attaché Manuel Dimaano and Assistant Labor Attaché Cathy Duladul, who expressed their support for the initiative.

Ambassador Cabrera commended ASFOK for its proactive efforts in organizing the event, highlighting the importance of such humanitarian activities in fostering goodwill between the Filipino community and their host country.

ASFOK Officer Mae Ortiz expressed gratitude to all attendees, including partner organizations and individual donors, for making the event a success.

“This would not have been possible without the collective effort of everyone involved—our member organizations, volunteers, and the medical team at Al Adan Blood Center,” she said.
The blood donation drive not only addressed a critical need for blood supplies but also served as a platform for community engagement.

Many first-time donors shared their experiences, citing the event as an opportunity to give back in a meaningful way. Veteran donors, on the other hand, reiterated their commitment to supporting similar causes whenever possible.

Beyond its humanitarian impact, the event reinforced the positive image of the Filipino community in Kuwait, showcasing their willingness to engage in altruistic endeavors. The strong turnout demonstrated the collective dedication of Filipinos to social responsibility, further solidifying their reputation as proactive and compassionate contributors to Kuwaiti society.

As the event concluded, organizers expressed optimism about future collaborations, with plans already underway for more community-driven activities.

The success of the blood donation drive serves as a testament to what can be achieved through unity and a shared commitment to helping others.

The Association of Filipino Organizations in Kuwait remains steadfast in its mission to serve both its members and the wider community through meaningful and impactful initiatives.
