The American Business Council Kuwait (ABCK-AmCham Kuwait) held the Vendor’s Day Workshop recently, uniting U.S. contracting officials and private sector representatives for an interactive and educational session.
ABCK Chairman Pete Swift opened the event, introducing Lt. Col. Sabellico, the new Commander of the 386th Expeditionary Contracting Squadron (ECONS), who reaffirmed the unit’s commitment to local vendor engagement and procurement.
A highlight of the workshop was the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) session, presented virtually by Dean Franks and Drew Griffin of U.S.-based Cohort Shield. They outlined essential CMMC requirements and practical steps toward certification for companies seeking U.S. Department of Defense contracts.
The 386th ECONS team also conducted a detailed walkthrough of SAM.gov, explaining how to navigate solicitations, respond effectively, and manage invoicing through platforms like WAWF and PIEE.
Participants praised the event’s one-on-one engagement sessions, which provided valuable direct support and technical guidance.
“Events like Vendor’s Day build trust, transparency, and capacity between the public and private sectors,” said Pete Swift. “We thank the 386th ECONS and our guest speakers for their dedication to empowering local vendors.”
