Kuwait envoy Fawaz Boursli presents credentials as permanent representative to IAEA

Kuwait’s Ambassador to Austria H.E. Fawaz Boursli has presented his credentials as the State of Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) during a ceremony at the agency’s headquarters in Vienna.

During a meeting with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, Boursli stressed the agency’s key role in supporting international efforts to strengthen the nuclear non-proliferation regime, enhance nuclear safety and security, and promote the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

According to a statement issued Friday by the Kuwaiti Embassy in Austria, Boursli reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to supporting the IAEA’s work and efforts across areas within its mandate, contributing to its objectives and strengthening international cooperation on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

He also expressed Kuwait’s interest in benefiting from the agency’s technical programs and initiatives to help member states build their capabilities and make greater use of peaceful nuclear applications in various development fields.

The meeting also reviewed cooperation between Kuwait and the IAEA and ways to further develop and strengthen bilateral ties in areas of mutual interest. Both sides also emphasized the importance of continued coordination on issues within the agency’s mandate.
