Jazeera Airways expands Egypt network with direct Kuwait–Aswan flights
Ninth destination in Egypt after Cairo, Sphinx, Alexandria, Assiut, Luxor, Sohag, Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low-cost carrier, is further expanding its presence in Egypt with the launch of direct flights between Kuwait and Aswan, giving travelers a convenient new connection to one of Egypt’s most historic and culturally significant destinations.
The new service will begin on 25 October, with four weekly flights operating between Kuwait International Airport and Aswan International Airport. The launch makes Aswan Jazeera Airways’ ninth destination in Egypt, strengthening the airline’s network in one of its most important markets.
Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Mohamed Gaber Abul-Wafa welcomed the new route, describing it as another reflection of the longstanding relationship between Kuwait and Egypt. “I am delighted to join Jazeera Airways in announcing its new route to Aswan, the airline’s ninth destination in Egypt,” he said, noting that the expansion reflects strong travel demand and the importance of the Egyptian market to the airline.
He added that direct air links go beyond simply connecting destinations, as they help bring communities closer while supporting tourism, trade, investment and cultural exchange. The Ambassador also highlighted the importance of the route for the large Egyptian community in Kuwait, particularly those from Aswan and other parts of Upper Egypt.

“Direct flights between Kuwait and Aswan will provide them and their families with a more convenient travel option, saving time and making it easier to stay connected with their families and communities back home,” he said.
Beyond its social significance, the Ambassador pointed to Aswan’s growing tourism and economic potential. Located along the Nile in southern Egypt, the city is known for its ancient heritage, Nubian culture and scenic landscapes, while also serving as a gateway to major attractions such as Abu Simbel and Philae Temple.
Jazeera Airways CEO Barathan Pasupathi said Egypt has remained a key market for the airline, particularly given the size of the Egyptian community in Kuwait. “With over 690,000 Egyptians forming the second largest Arab community in Kuwait, Egypt has always been a key market for Jazeera Airways,” Pasupathi said.
He noted that Jazeera first began serving Egypt with Alexandria in 2006 and now connects Kuwait with eight Egyptian cities. The addition of Aswan expands that network to nine destinations. “Our growing presence across the country reflects the strong demand we continue to see for affordable and convenient travel between Kuwait and Egypt,” he said.
Pasupathi added that Aswan brings a distinctive new destination to Jazeera’s network, providing a direct link for families and communities while making it easier for travelers to explore one of Egypt’s most renowned tourism destinations.
Jazeera Airways currently operates flights from Kuwait to Cairo, Sphinx, Alexandria, Assiut, Luxor, Sohag, Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada. The addition of Aswan is expected to further support family travel, business links and tourism between Kuwait and southern Egypt, while giving passengers greater choice and flexibility.
Flights to Aswan will be available for booking through the Jazeera Airways website and mobile application.
