Pakistani tailor arrested for impersonating Kuwait police colonel to rob women

A 45-year-old Pakistani man has been arrested for allegedly impersonating a Ministry of Interior officer and defrauding women of Arab and Asian nationalities.
The suspect, who works as a tailor, allegedly posed as a Ministry of Interior officer and at times wore a military uniform while claiming he could help expedite official transactions.
Investigations by the General Department of Residence Affairs Investigations began after detectives received information about the suspect’s activities. His fluency in the local dialect reportedly helped him pose convincingly as a genuine Ministry of Interior officer, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a security source.
Following his arrest after obtaining a warrant from the Public Prosecution, the man during questioning, reportedly confessed to impersonating an officer. His military uniform, a colonel’s rank insignia and a special badge indicating employment with the General Department of Control and Inspection was found at his residence.
Legal procedures are now underway to determine the full nature of the fraudulent activities allegedly carried out using the false identity.
