Kuwait Customs foils another attempt to smuggle food supplies to Egypt
The General Administration of Customs has foiled another attempt to smuggle large quantities of food supplies out of the country, intercepting several trucks carrying the goods to Egypt in violation of applicable regulations.
The seizure was made during routine customs inspections conducted by officers from the Sulaibiya and Vegetables Market Customs Departments. Inspectors became suspicious of several trucks during the checks and proceeded with detailed searches, which led to the discovery of large quantities of various food products being transported in breach of the regulations.
Customs authorities said the case has been handled in accordance with established customs and legal procedures, with the necessary measures taken against those involved. The violators will be referred to the competent authorities for further legal action and completion of the required procedures.
The General Administration of Customs said the latest operation forms part of its continuing efforts to combat the smuggling and illegal movement of restricted goods, strengthen monitoring of cargo passing through Kuwait’s customs ports and safeguard the country’s resources and economic security.
The seizure also underscores the authority’s ongoing focus on tighter customs controls and effective enforcement of regulations governing the movement of goods across Kuwait’s borders.
