8 Kuwait companies contribute to KERF to strengthen national preparedness

The Kuwait Fund for Development has announced a new round of private-sector contributions to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund (KERF), with eight companies and institutions providing financial support.
The contributions reflect growing cooperation between Kuwait’s public and private sectors to strengthen the country’s preparedness for emergencies and improve its ability to respond quickly to crises.
The latest contributions include $1 million each from Energy Operations Company and Commercial Real Estate Company, while Sayed Hamid Behbehani & Sons and National Electrical Panels Company jointly contributed $1 million.
Ajial Real Estate Entertainment Company and Al-Takhsees Holding Company each contributed $500,000, while KFH Investment Company and Estate Capital jointly contributed another $500,000.
The purpose of the fund is to support Kuwait’s emergency preparedness and response capabilities, particularly in dealing with the effects of the current regional security situation.
According to the Kuwait Fund, it is intended to help the country respond to emergencies, protect vital infrastructure and facilities, rehabilitate damaged assets and reduce the impact of crises on essential services and national operations.
The fund has taken on particular importance following what the contributing companies described as the Iranian aggression and its impact on Kuwait’s vital infrastructure.
The contributions are intended to support national efforts to address damage, strengthen resilience and accelerate recovery, particularly in strategically important sectors such as energy and infrastructure.
Energy Operations Company said its $1 million contribution reflects its national and social responsibility.
The company said it has continued supporting national oil companies and maintaining operational continuity during the regional developments, while offering its technical and operational capabilities to help restore national production to normal levels and accelerate recovery in the energy sector.
The participating companies represent a broad range of Kuwait’s economy, including real estate, engineering and construction, electrical infrastructure, investment, energy, healthcare and transportation.
Their involvement highlights the fund’s wider objective of creating a public-private partnership in emergency response, bringing together government resources and private-sector funding and expertise to protect Kuwait’s assets, maintain essential operations and strengthen the country’s ability to recover from major emergencies.
