KFAED expands global partnerships on sustainable development at Hamburg Sustainability Conference

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international cooperation in sustainable development through its participation in the Hamburg Sustainability Conference, held under the patronage of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The Fund was represented by Acting Director General Waleed Al-Bahr, accompanied by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Germany H.E. Reem Al-Khaled, in discussions focused on global development challenges, fragile states, and long-term sustainability strategies.

During the conference, the Kuwaiti delegation took part in several dialogue sessions addressing the future of sustainable development, with particular emphasis on the needs of fragile and conflict-affected countries.
Al-Bahr highlighted the Fund’s longstanding role in supporting the Republic of Yemen, stressing the importance of coordinated international efforts to address both humanitarian and development challenges in the country.
On the sidelines of the event, the Kuwait Fund signed a declaration of intent with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in development financing and project implementation.
The agreement was signed by Al-Bahr on behalf of the Kuwait Fund and by German State Minister Niels Annen, in the presence of the Kuwaiti Ambassador.
The declaration outlines strengthened coordination between the two sides, including knowledge exchange, joint financing initiatives, and expanded cooperation in humanitarian and relief projects in fragile regions.
It also seeks to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through closer institutional partnership.
The Kuwait Fund said its participation reflects its ongoing strategy to expand global partnerships and reinforce its role in financing development and humanitarian projects in developing countries worldwide.
