Food authority shuts down three violating food establishments in Jahra

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN), in cooperation with the General Department of Criminal Investigation at the Ministry of Interior, has shut down three food establishments operating in violation of regulations during inspection campaigns conducted in several private residences in Jahra Governorate.

According to a statement issued by the authority, the violations involved a restaurant and two grocery stores that were operating without the required health licenses.

Inspection teams also uncovered serious breaches of food safety regulations, including the preparation and handling of food in unsanitary conditions.

The raids led to the confiscation of adulterated food products lacking proper identification labels, as well as expired and unfit food items deemed unsafe for human consumption.

PAFN stated that legal action has been taken against the violators and the cases have been referred to the competent authorities to complete the necessary procedures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

The authority urged citizens and residents to avoid purchasing food from unlicensed establishments or businesses operating from private residences, warning that such practices pose potential risks to public health.

PAFN also expressed appreciation to members of the public who reported the violations, emphasizing that food safety is a shared responsibility requiring the cooperation of all sectors of society to protect public health and ensure consumer safety.
