KPC completes conversion of fuel stations to Q8 brand across Kuwait

  • The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation has completed the conversion of a number of fuel stations across the country to the internationally recognized Q8 brand, marking a key milestone in efforts to unify its retail identity and enhance customer services as part of its long-term growth strategy.

The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has completed the conversion of several fuel stations across the country to the globally recognized Q8 brand, in a move aimed at unifying the identity of Kuwait’s fuel retail sector and strengthening the company’s international presence.

KPC Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Sabah said the transition represents a strategic step toward consolidating the corporation’s brand identity across domestic and international markets while reinforcing Kuwait’s position as a global energy player.

“This transformation reflects our continued commitment to operational excellence, providing the best services to our customers, and supporting our strategic goals aimed at achieving sustainable growth and enhancing our presence locally and globally until 2040,” Sheikh Nawaf said.

The first station reopened under the Q8 identity incorporates international operational standards and offers an expanded range of services beyond traditional fuel sales, including retail outlets, vehicle care products and advanced digital payment solutions, a local Arabic daily reports.

The initiative forms part of a broader retail modernization program being implemented jointly by Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) and Kuwait Petroleum International (Q8).

KNPC Chief Executive Officer Engineer Wadha Al-Khatib said the launch of the first Q8-branded station in Kuwait marks the beginning of a phased transition that will eventually see all KNPC fuel stations operating under the Q8 banner and managed by Kuwait Petroleum International.

The initial phase includes the conversion and reopening of eight stations located across different regions of Kuwait, with additional stations scheduled to follow under a gradual implementation plan.

Al-Khatib noted that KNPC has nearly 65 years of experience in operating fuel stations in Kuwait, having assumed responsibility for the network from Kuwait Oil Company in 1961. She said KNPC will continue its core role of supplying all fuel stations in the country with petroleum products.

Meanwhile, Kuwait Petroleum International Chief Executive Officer Engineer Shafi Al-Ajmi said the rebranding marks the start of a new chapter for Q8 in the domestic market.

“We consider this station the beginning of a new phase in Q8’s journey in the local market, with a vision that goes beyond simply reintroducing a successful brand to transforming fuel stations into integrated service destinations that meet the diverse needs of customers,” Al-Ajmi said.

He added that future Q8 stations will feature electric vehicle charging facilities, car wash services, partnerships with leading food and beverage brands and new retail concepts designed to diversify revenue streams and improve customer experience.

The company aims to transform its stations into community-focused service hubs while strengthening customer loyalty and supporting Kuwait’s broader energy transition and retail development objectives.
