KRCS launches blood donation campaign on World Blood Donor Day

The Kuwait Red Crescent Society, in cooperation with the Kuwait Blood Bank, launched a blood donation campaign on Sunday to mark World Blood Donor Day, observed annually on June 14.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation, promote a culture of humanitarian giving, and strengthen the national blood supply to help save lives. It also supports ongoing efforts to ensure sufficient blood units are available for hospitals and medical centres across the country.

Director General of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Fawaz Al-Mazrouei, said the campaign saw strong participation from the society’s staff during their visit to the Kuwait Blood Bank, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to humanitarian and community service.

Al-Mazrouei noted that the campaign is part of a series of humanitarian and social initiatives implemented by the Red Crescent in cooperation with health authorities.

He stressed that blood donation is one of the most important forms of humanitarian work, directly supporting the Ministry of Health’s efforts to provide blood and its components for patients and emergency cases.

He added that the society will continue to organise health and volunteer initiatives aimed at strengthening social responsibility and encouraging community participation in supporting the national blood reserve.
Al-Mazrouei also expressed appreciation to the Blood Bank staff for their readiness and professionalism in ensuring safe and high-quality donation procedures.
