Italian envoy, Red Crescent highlight humanitarian cooperation and community support

The Italian Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Lorenzo Morini, said the Italian community considers itself an integral part of Kuwaiti society and is committed to giving back through humanitarian and social initiatives, especially blood donation campaigns.
His remarks came during a blood donation drive organized by the Italian Embassy on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, with participation from members of the Italian community in Kuwait. He said the initiative aimed to support the healthcare sector and encourage community solidarity.
Ambassador Morini emphasized that the campaign reflects unity between the Italian community and Kuwait, noting that expatriates living in Kuwait are keen to support the country during challenging times.

He highlighted that the Italian community in Kuwait numbers around 800 people, though this decreases during the summer months. The embassy promoted the campaign through community networks and social groups to encourage wider participation.
He further stressed that humanitarian initiatives reflect strong friendship between Italy and Kuwait, affirming Italy’s support for Kuwait and its cooperation with it in assisting countries facing crises across various regions.
The Italian envoy added that such efforts, including blood donation campaigns, promote shared responsibility and strengthen humanitarian values between nations.
On the Kuwaiti side, Fawaz Al-Mazrouei of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society praised the increasing participation of embassies and expatriate communities in humanitarian activities. He said this reflects Kuwait’s strong global humanitarian standing and growing international engagement in local charitable initiatives.
Al-Mazrouei added that Kuwait’s humanitarian efforts, carried out through the Red Crescent, have strengthened international relations and enhanced the country’s global image.
He said embassies increasingly participate in such initiatives after witnessing Kuwait’s widespread humanitarian work, noting that Kuwaiti aid reaches many countries worldwide and continues to serve as a model of solidarity and cooperation among nations.
