Authorities shut down illegal home-based grocery in Al-Qusour

Kuwaiti authorities have shut down an illegal grocery operation run from a residential property in the Al-Qusour area, as part of ongoing inspection campaigns targeting unlicensed commercial activities in residential neighborhoods.

Inspection teams discovered that the property was being used to store and sell food items without the necessary commercial licences or health approvals.

Officials said the operation was in clear violation of municipal regulations governing food storage, distribution, and business activity in residential buildings.

During the raid, inspectors confiscated a quantity of goods found on the premises and took legal action against those responsible. The site was found to be functioning as an informal grocery serving nearby residents despite being registered as a private residence.

Officials reiterated that strict measures will be taken against individuals operating commercial activities from homes without proper licensing, in line with Kuwait’s laws on public health and business regulation.
