Germany demolish Curaçao 7-1 at 2026 World Cup

Germany national football team opened their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign in emphatic style with a 7–1 victory over debutants Curaçao national football team in their Group E clash at NRG Stadium in Houston.

The four-time world champions showcased their attacking firepower from the outset, overwhelming Curaçao with relentless pressure, quick transitions, and clinical finishing.

Curaçao, making their first-ever appearance at a World Cup, briefly stunned the German side early on when they found a surprise equaliser through Comenencia, marking a historic moment for the Caribbean nation.

However, Germany quickly regained control, with a wave of attacking brilliance led by Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, Felix Nmecha, and Kai Havertz. The European giants struck repeatedly to take a commanding lead before the break and continued their dominance in the second half.

Deniz Undav added to the scoreline with a clinical finish, continuing his impressive scoring streak for the national team, while Nico Schlotterbeck also contributed as Germany’s set-piece threat proved decisive.

Despite the heavy defeat, Curaçao showed determination and resilience throughout, creating occasional attacking moments and earning praise for scoring in their World Cup debut.

Germany’s victory reinforces their status as one of the tournament favourites, while Curaçao will take pride in their historic first goal and experience on football’s biggest stage.

The result places Germany at the top of Group E early on, as they begin their pursuit of a fifth World Cup title in commanding fashion.
