Social Affairs Minister dissolves two public benefit associations
Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila has ordered the dissolution of two public benefit associations and the liquidation of their boards of directors after completing the required legal procedures and obtaining approval from the competent authorities.
Under the decisions, the associations’ boards and employees are prohibited from disposing of any funds, records, documents, or assets. They have also been directed to hand over all materials and property in their possession to the entity appointed by the Ministry to oversee the liquidation process in accordance with the law.
The Ministry stated that the move reflects its commitment to enforcing legal and regulatory requirements, strengthening governance, transparency and accountability, and ensuring that public benefit associations adhere to their objectives and governing regulations.
The Ministry emphasized that it will continue to monitor the activities of civil society organizations and will take legal action against any violations that may harm the public interest or compromise the proper management of association funds and assets.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing oversight mechanisms to strengthen public confidence in civil society institutions and support their developmental role in serving the community.
