Ali Al-Kharafi clinches fifth consecutive Kuwait Equestrian League title

Kuwaiti rider Ali Al-Kharafi on Saturday secured the title of the fifth edition of the Kuwait Equestrian League following the conclusion of the fifth and final round of the 2025/2026 season at the Police Sports Union’s Equestrian and Shooting Club track in Subhan.
Speaking to Kuwait News Agency after being crowned champion, Al-Kharafi said he was proud to achieve the title for the fifth consecutive time in an unprecedented accomplishment despite the rising standard of competition and the strong field of riders participating in this year’s local league.
He noted that competition becomes increasingly challenging every season due to the influx of new riders and the demanding jump heights faced by horses, stressing that such challenges contribute significantly to developing Kuwaiti riders and strengthening the national equestrian team.
Al-Kharafi added that the Kuwait national equestrian team draws its talent directly from the domestic league, pointing to the impressive performances delivered by Kuwaiti riders in recent international competitions, including the latest Asian championship and the Gulf Games in Doha.
The champion also expressed gratitude to the Public Authority for Sport, the Kuwait Olympic Committee and the Police Sports Union for their continued support, which he said plays a major role in developing the sport and elevating Kuwait’s presence at regional and international events.
At the end of the season, Al-Kharafi topped the standings with 437 points, followed by rider Abdullah Al-Awadhi in second place with 340 points. Anaz Al-Anaz secured third place with 334 points, while Abdulrahman Al-Fozai finished fourth with 236 points and Fawaz Al-Subaie came fifth with 223 points.
Several rounds of the domestic league were hosted at the Police Sports Union venue under a cooperation protocol signed with the Kuwait Equestrian Federation, aimed at unifying efforts to advance equestrian sports in Kuwait through the use of the union’s facilities for competitions, training camps and equestrian activities.
