‘Education’ unveils integrated school plan to serve growing residential areas
Seven new schools planned as Kuwait boosts education infrastructure in emerging cities; advances school expansion in Sabah Al-Ahmad Sea City with seven new campuses approved

As part of its strategy to expand and modernize educational infrastructure, Kuwait’s Ministry of Education is advancing plans to support the growing needs of new residential areas.
The initiative aims to ensure the availability of integrated, high-quality educational services that align with the country’s rapid urban development and promote long-term sustainability in the education sector.
In this context, Sabah Al-Ahmad Sea City has been prioritized as a key development zone. The Ministry conducted comprehensive population studies to determine optimal school locations, ensuring efficient access and service coverage for residents.
Seven sites have been approved for new school construction, covering all educational stages. The projects include a kindergarten, primary schools for boys and girls, intermediate schools for boys and girls, and two secondary schools.
This integrated approach is designed to provide a complete educational pathway within the community and reduce commuting distances for students.
Officials confirmed that site selection was based on detailed field assessments, including current and projected population density, to guarantee balanced service distribution and proximity to residential neighborhoods.
The Ministry also received the official land boundaries from Kuwait Municipality, marking a key milestone toward implementation.
Technical and engineering teams have already begun evaluating site dimensions and preparing architectural designs that maximize land use while ensuring a modern and effective learning environment.
Once designs are finalized and approved, construction tenders will be issued in accordance with established procedures.
The Ministry emphasized that the tendering process follows Law No. 49 of 2016 on public tenders, which separates design and execution phases to enhance transparency and ensure higher-quality outcomes.
These projects form part of a broader national vision to expand school capacity in emerging areas and build advanced educational environments that support both students and educators, reflecting Kuwait’s commitment to sustainable development and high standards in public education.
