Kuwait faces over 1,000 attacks; repels attacks amid infrastructure damage

Kuwait has recorded more than 1,000 hostile incidents since the start of the sixth week of escalating Iranian aggression, with 19 drones and 8 ballistic missiles detected in the past 24 hours alone.
Recent attacks over the past two days targeted critical infrastructure, including the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery, where fires broke out in several operational units. A power and water desalination station was also struck, causing material damage to parts of the facility.
The Kuwaiti army confirmed that all missiles and drones detected during the last 24 hours were handled in accordance with established procedures, with no casualties or significant damage reported.
Meanwhile, the Land Force Engineering’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams responded to four separate incidents.
Since February 28, Kuwait’s armed forces have dealt with a total of 1,045 threats, including 327 ballistic missiles, 9 cruise missiles, and 709 drones, reflecting the scale and continuation of the attacks.
The Ministry of Interior reported that its EOD teams handled 20 cases involving falling debris from interception operations in the past day, raising the total number of such incidents to 669 since the beginning of the escalation. Air raid sirens were activated three times within the same period, bringing the cumulative total to 167.
Despite the ongoing attacks, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy reassured the public that power and water systems remain stable and under control.
Official spokesperson Engineer Fatima Hayat stated that recent strikes caused material damage to service buildings at one desalination station, while another facility was hit on Friday, also resulting in limited structural damage.
Authorities emphasized that all relevant agencies continue to operate with high readiness and coordination to safeguard the country and maintain essential services.
