Kuwait bourse jumps 112 points, trading value hits 70.4 million dinars

The Kuwait Stock Exchange closed trading on Thursday with its general index rising 111.96 points, or 1.33 percent, to reach 8,549.77 points.

A total of 218.16 million shares were traded through 16,580 cash transactions, with a value of KD 70.4 million (approximately USD 215.4 million).

The main market index rose 106.42 points, or 1.37 percent, to reach 7,887.10 points, with 74.3 million shares traded through 6,362 cash transactions, valued at KD 9 million (approximately USD 27.5 million).

The premier market index also rose, gaining 118.94 points, or 1.32 percent, to reach 9,134.21 points, with 143.8 million shares traded through 10,218 transactions, valued at KD 61.3 million (approximately USD 187.5 million).

Meanwhile, the Main 50 Index rose 232.53 points, or 2.91 percent, to reach 8,234.94 points, with 65.9 million shares traded across 5,444 cash transactions valued at 7.9 million dinars (approximately $24 million).

The top gainers were Enjazat, Warba Capital, Tanzeef, and Marakez, while the biggest losers were Al Manar, Al Imtiaz, Wataniya M.B., and Asmant.
