Ministry of Interior Arrests Three Over Social Media Violations

Authorities at the Ministry of Interior have arrested three individuals in separate incidents related to the misuse of social media, according to an official statement issued as part of ongoing monitoring efforts.

In the first case, two individuals were apprehended after authorities detected video clips they had posted online containing phrases and scenes deemed to mock and disparage the Kuwaiti Armed Forces. The content also allegedly sought to belittle the efforts of the country’s air defense system in carrying out its national duties.

The Ministry stated that such actions constitute unacceptable conduct that undermines the prestige of the military institution. Following investigation and confrontation with evidence gathered through search and inquiry operations, the two individuals admitted to filming and publishing the material. They have since been detained and referred to the competent authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.

In a separate incident, authorities arrested a third individual for using a social media account to publish statements containing insults and content considered harmful to international relations. The account also reportedly featured images of leaders of designated terrorist organizations in its profile.

The Ministry reiterated its previous warnings regarding the importance of adhering to laws and regulations governing social media use. It stressed the need to refrain from publishing or circulating content that could harm military institutions, state interests, or Kuwait’s foreign relations.

Emphasizing that the law will be firmly enforced against violators, the Ministry called on the public to uphold their national responsibilities, particularly in light of the current regional circumstances.

The statement concluded with a prayer for the continued security and safety of Kuwait and its people.
