Kuwait, WB explore deeper partnership to enhance governance, technical cooperation

Minister of Finance Dr. Yaqoub Al-Rifai met on Monday with the World Bank Group’s Vice President for the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, Dr. Ousmane Dione, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the Government of Kuwait and the World Bank.
The Ministry of Finance stated in a press release that the meeting also included an introduction to the new Country Manager of the World Bank in Kuwait, Azhar Iqbal.
The Ministry affirmed Kuwait’s commitment to continued technical cooperation to benefit from the Bank’s expertise in strengthening compliance and governance frameworks, praising the existing partnership between the two sides.
The meeting was also attended by World Bank Group Executive Director Abdulaziz Al-Mulla and Director of the International Economic Cooperation Department Saad Al-Rashidi.
