Cyprus Congratulates Kuwait on National and Liberation Days

On the auspicious occasion of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the National Day and the 35th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Cyprus, as well as on my own behalf, I have the great honor and pleasure to convey to His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Government and the friendly people of Kuwait, our warmest congratulations and best wishes.

Cyprus and Kuwait are like-minded countries that strongly support the primacy of international law and the adherence to the UN Charter, having both suffered from the painful and traumatic experience of invasion and occupation. Furthermore, Cyprus and Kuwait enjoy longstanding ties of friendship and have established close cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral levels, built on common experiences, shared values, mutual respect and respect to international law.

I am certain that the excellent relations between Cyprus and Kuwait will continue to prosper and intensify in the years ahead, for the mutual benefit of our countries and peoples. In this respect, I will spare no effort to help our relations propel to new heights. Last but not least, I would also like to take this opportunity and wish His Highness good health, long life and happiness, and to the friendly people of Kuwait continuous progress, peace and prosperity, under his wise and visionary leadership.
