Kuwait, Egypt celebrate decades of strategic partnership and shared history
A legacy built on Solidarity and Cooperation; National and Liberation Day event underscores strength of Kuwaiti-Egyptian relations

The Kuwaiti Embassy in Cairo commemorated Kuwait’s National Day and Liberation Day with a celebration highlighting decades of deep-rooted historical and strategic relations between Kuwait and Egypt — a partnership shaped by shared sacrifices and long-standing Arab cooperation.
Speaking during the reception, Kuwait’s Ambassador to Egypt, H.E. Ghanem Saqr Al-Ghanem, affirmed that bilateral relations have witnessed remarkable development, reaching unprecedented levels under the leadership of His Highness Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The event, marking the 65th anniversary of Kuwait’s National Day and the 35th anniversary of Liberation Day, brought together senior officials, diplomats and prominent public figures.
Among the attendees were Ambassador H.E. Talal Khaled Al-Mutairi, Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League, and Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk, representing Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.

Ambassador Al-Ghanem described Kuwaiti-Egyptian relations as a bond built on mutual trust and a shared destiny, noting that cooperation between the two nations dates back to the early twentieth century and today reflects closely aligned strategic visions toward regional challenges.
He added that strong personal ties between the leaderships of both countries have transformed historical goodwill into a comprehensive partnership that continues to expand across multiple sectors.
Highlighting key milestones, the ambassador recalled Egypt’s support for Kuwait’s development and its decisive role during the 1990 invasion and liberation, alongside Kuwait’s enduring backing of Egypt during critical periods, including the 1967 war and the October 1973 victory. He emphasized that the shared sacrifices of Kuwaiti and Egyptian forces on the Sinai Peninsula remain a lasting symbol of the strength of bilateral ties.
Extending congratulations to Kuwait’s leadership and citizens residing in Egypt, Al-Ghanem said national occasions reinforce values of loyalty and pride while strengthening bonds between peoples.
Representing the Egyptian government, Minister Sherif Farouk described Egyptian-Kuwaiti relations as a model of constructive Arab integration, stressing the importance of expanding economic cooperation and trade partnerships to address evolving global challenges.
The celebration concluded with a documentary presentation and musical performances showcasing Kuwaiti heritage and tracing the evolution of the historic partnership between the two nations.
