Sadu House opened its doors today to a private collection of French silverware, offering visitors a rare opportunity to explore the refinement and craftsmanship of 19th- and 20th-century French dining culture.

The collection, carefully curated by a private collector, includes pieces from Christofle, the renowned silverware house historically associated with royal courts and aristocratic gatherings.

The collection highlights French silver design, from the intricate neoclassical patterns of the 19th century to the streamlined forms of the early 20th, reflecting both technical skill and cultural tradition.

The silverware was displayed alongside Persian carpets, celebrated for their detailed motifs, rich symbolism, and centuries-long heritage of craftsmanship. Each carpet tells a story through its patterns and colors, combining aesthetic beauty with cultural significance. Hosted at Sadu House, a historic Kuwaiti home and a repository for textile weaving and Sadu-style embroidery.

The collection also highlighted a personal narrative. Mahsa Azimi began collecting silverware to host elegant dinners, cultivating a lifelong passion for hospitality.

Her daughter, Dina Daneshyar, now continues this tradition, presenting the art of hosting in a contemporary context while preserving the values and aesthetics that inspired her mother.

By bringing together French silver, Persian carpets, and Kuwaiti Sadu weaving, the event created a cultural dialogue emphasizing craftsmanship, heritage, and the universal role of hospitality.

The collection will remain at Sadu House for two days, offering a rare chance for visitors to experience French Art de la Table in a unique setting. Those interested in French antiques and silver can follow @popupantiquekw for more.
