Despite rainfall, schools get down to business as second semester begins

Despite rainfall that continued across the country since last night, daily life roared back into motion on Sunday with the reopening of schools and beginning of the second semester in public and private Arabic schools.

The quiet of the mid-year holiday gave way to early-morning activity as students returned to their desks.

Streets once again echoed with the movement of school buses, restoring the familiar weekday rhythm across residential areas. Parents and students alike adjusted smoothly to the return, undeterred by the wet weather, reports Al-Rai daily.

Roads surrounding schools witnessed only limited traffic congestion during the early morning hours. Thanks to proactive efforts by the Ministry of Interior, traffic flow remained smooth and flexible on most main and secondary roads despite the rain.

Educational districts reported a calm and well-organized first day of classes. In several schools, attendance was moderate, with administrations opting to cancel morning assemblies as a precaution due to heavy rainfall.

The Jahra Educational District stood out for its particularly active start to the semester, recording a noticeable rise in student transfer requests to newly opened schools in Mutlaa City, reflecting growing demand in the area.

Overall, the return to school passed without disruption, highlighting effective coordination between educational authorities and security agencies, and demonstrating the country’s readiness to maintain normalcy even under challenging weather conditions.
