Hawally police solve mystery of 2,300 dinars construction material theft case

Personnel from the Hawally Criminal Investigations Department, has closed the file of a theft case involving construction equipment valued at KD 2,300.
The Al-Anba daily said, this happened following the arrest of the suspect, who was staying in the country illegally for over a year after the expiry of his work permit.
The daily added, earlier a Kuwaiti man had filed a complaint with a police station reporting the theft of construction materials, including iron, electrical cables and a power generator, from a site on Al-Mahdi Street in Hawally. The theft occurred on December 24, 2025, and the complainant initially did not name any suspect, reports Al-Anba daily.
A security source said the CID men began inquiries, collected evidence and checked the CCTV camera footage from the surrounding area. These efforts led to the identification of a suspect, who was subsequently arrested.
During interrogation, the accused claimed that another individual was responsible for the theft. That individual was contacted and voluntarily surrendered himself to the authorities. He confessed in detail to committing the crime, saying the reason for theft was financial disputes with the complainant.
When confronted with this information, the complainant acknowledged the existence of financial disagreements between the two parties, but maintained his accusation against the original suspect.
Further investigations, including an analysis of surveillance footage, confirmed that the individual identified as (A.S.M.) was responsible for the theft.
The authorities also verified that the suspect was staying in the country since August 23, 2024, according to the Ministry of Interior’s automated records.
The man has been referred to the authorities to complete the necessary procedures.
