KCCC enters advanced phase with new appointments in senior positions and French partnership

Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi has issued a series of ministerial decisions appointing the director of the newly-established Kuwait Cancer Control Center (KCCC), along with the heads of the medical authority and the medical, technical and administrative departments, as part of comprehensive preparations for the center’s official opening and the start of an advanced operational phase in partnership with France’s Gustave Roussy Hospital.
The Ministry of Health stated that the decisions stem from a strategic vision aimed at enhancing the efficiency of medical and administrative performance, integrating specialties, and ensuring the provision of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services for cancer patients in line with international best practices, reports Al-Rai daily.
The move is intended to keep pace with rapid developments in oncology treatment while enhancing healthcare quality and patient safety.
The ministry described the appointments as a vital organizational milestone in the development of the Kuwait Cancer Control Center, achieved through the selection of qualified national talents with strong scientific and practical expertise capable of leading the next phase with efficiency and professionalism.
The new structure is designed to strengthen institutional work based on integration, sustainability, and clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
As part of activating the cooperation agreement with the French side, a specialized medical and administrative delegation from Gustave Roussy Hospital is continuing a field visit to the center to review medical services.
The visit aims to exchange expertise, unify treatment protocols, and support operational readiness ahead of the center’s full launch.
Under the ministerial decrees, Dr. Khaled Hilal Eidan Al-Khaldi was appointed Director of the Kuwait Cancer Control Center, while Dr. Fahd Malfi Mufleh Al-Rashidi was named Head of the Medical Authority.
The appointments also include Dr. Muath Ahmed Mohammed Al-Nassar as Head of the Chemotherapy Department, Dr. Yasser Mohamed Hassan Ramadan as Head of the Radiotherapy Department, Dr. Amal Yousef Saleh Abdullah as Head of the Surgery Department, Dr. Abdulaziz Abdulmohsen Abdulaziz Hamada as Head of the Hematology Department, Dr. Dalal Abdulrasoul Habib Al-Matrouk as Head of Anesthesia and Intensive Care, Dr. Mashael Issa Yaqoub Bandar as Head of Radiology, Dr. Abdullah Issa Akbar Mohammed Ali as Head of Laboratories, and Dr. Abdul-Redha Abbas Ismail as Head of Nuclear Medicine.
On the technical and administrative level, appointments include Dalal Nasser Kreidi Al-Anzi as Head of Health Informatics and Treatment Coordination, Dr. Al-Anoud Faisal Fahd Al-Sumait as Head of Therapeutic Nutrition, Ali Hassan Eidan Muhammad Al-Muhamid as Head of Public Relations, Engineer Mahmoud Mohammed Gholoum Al Khaja as Head of Engineering Affairs, Engineer Yaqoub Mohammed Al-Farij as Head of Biomedical Engineering, Huda Mubarak Ahmed Abdulrahman as Head of Sterilization, Eid Habab Attallah Al-Mutairi as Head of Nursing, and Hanaa Ahmed Khamis Jassim as Head of Physiotherapy.
The Ministry of Health affirmed that these appointments reflect its continued commitment to advancing cancer care in Kuwait, strengthening international partnerships, and building an integrated healthcare model that places patients at the center of attention while adhering to the highest global medical standards.
