New Indian envoy Ms. Tripathi, assumes charge, set to take India–Kuwait relations to next level

Ms. Paramita Tripathi, India’s newly appointed Ambassador to Kuwait, arrived today and has officially taken charge as India’s top diplomat in Kuwait, marking the beginning of a new chapter in India–Kuwait relations.
The new Indian envoy is set to take the bilateral relations to the next level, building on the Strategic Partnership established following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kuwait in 2024.
Her tenure promises a renewed focus on strengthening government-to-government ties while fostering initiatives that benefit both nations economically and culturally.
In addition to her diplomatic engagements, Ambassador Tripathi will actively interact with the Indian community in Kuwait, participating in key cultural and social events. She is slated to attend the prestigious Annual Function & Awards Night of the Indian Business and Promotion Council on November 12, 2025, a significant gathering that celebrates the achievements and contributions of the Indian diaspora in the country.
Her presence at the event underscores India’s commitment to its diaspora, while providing a platform to connect directly with community leaders, professionals, and families, further cementing the bond between India and its vibrant Kuwaiti community.
A career diplomat with over two decades of experience in the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Ms. Tripathi joined the IFS in 2001 and has held several key positions both in India and abroad. Prior to her posting in Kuwait, she served as Joint Secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in New Delhi.
Ms. Tripathi holds a Master’s degree in Geography from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She is proficient in English, Hindi, and Bengali, with functional knowledge of French, and is married to Pradyumn, an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS).
Ambassador Tripathi is expected to play a vital role in enhancing cooperation between India and Kuwait across trade, energy, defense, culture, and financial intelligence. She will also help implement and expand several recent MoUs signed between the two countries, promoting bilateral engagement.
