Masterclass Lifestyles Workshops commence scholarship programs for household workers

Project in cooperation with Office of Migrant Workers, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and Ooredoo

Masterclass Lifestyles Workshops kicked off its one day culinary scholarship program for domestic workers in Kuwait Friday morning with seven participants. The 10 days program, which aimed at providing essential baking education to household service workers was organized in collaboration with Philippine Embassy’s Office of Migrant Workers, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and Ooredoo.

“When the program was announced in the social media, I immediately contacted the organizer to ensure that I can secure a place in the program and it was worth the time, effort and an experience of a lifetime” commented Luisa, participant. The three hours baking program showcased basic information and hands on experience on making dough that can create various types of breads saleable and popular among bakeries. Ingredients , facilities and equipment have been provided to ensure that participants can learn and bring home their products. “ I never knew that half kilo and handful of ingredients accessible at home can actually create such savory items, kids at home loved them and my employer is impressed with my products” added Michelle, participant.

Ooredoo Mobile Network Xpress SIM Card Head Jennifer Contreras Canillas came to distribute complimentary sim cards to the participants. “Such project are worth supporting especially intended for the personal development and enrichment of household service workers” added Canillas. The program will also provide certificate of participation to all attendees attesting their accomplishment. A graduation ceremony will also showcase their most loved products available for attendees to sample and taste.

Masterclass Lifestyles Workshops started its workshops in 2018 and offer variety of short workshops , include: Breads and Pastries, Art of Cake Decorating, International Cuisines, Southeast Asian Cooking, Art of Chocolate Making, Barista Course, Filipino Delicacy Gourmet, Masterclass Advanced Cake Decorating, Japanese Cooking course and Healthy Option Cooking. Each course is spearheaded by a Masterchef and supported by trainer. Each course is comprised of four sessions with three hours each class. The program has 800 graduates from different courses and has produced 15 Masterchefs in the past four years.
